3 Best Ways to Watch Movies on your Mac

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Once upon a time the idea of watching movies on a Mac seemed inconvenient. Now the time has changed and the home media center that includes a Mac mini is no longer a crazy idea. Now it’s very convenient to watch movies on your Mac. Here I have mentioned 3 best ways to watch movies on your Mac.

1) The iTunes Store

The iTunes Store is the most Mac friendly that packs many interesting stuffs. the store offers thousands of movies for purchase or rental, that can be played on Mac, Windows PC, Apple TV, iPod, and iPhone. The movies can be transferred or played on any computer authorized with the Apple ID used to purchase or rent the movie. Both standard definition and HD movies are sell by the store. These movies are basically in 720p (1280 by 720) format.

2) Amazon Video On Demand

Amazon’s Video On Demand service is not actively hostile to the Mac. It streams movies via a Web browser, so it can afford to be magnanimous. You can also watch the service movies on on TiVo, Roku players, compatible Sony Bravia devices, Panasonic TVs that is compatible with Samsung HDTVs and supports Viera Cast. You can download videos to up to two compatible devices like TiVo and Windows PC (for example). In fact Amazon Video On Demand is not that much ideal service for Mac users, but it does offer a couple of advantages over the iTunes Store.

3) Netflix

Netflix offers movie streaming through its Watch Instantly feature. If you have a Netflix plan starting at $9 (one DVD at a time), then you can enjoy more than 20,000 movies and TV episodes. Much of this content was Grade B material and/or ancient. So t Netflix is making efforts to bring better content to the service. Now it offers season packages of popular shows as Heroes, Weeds, Californication, Lost, The Office, and Dexter. You can watch Netflix streams via a Web browser on your Mac. The visual quality of Netflix’s content doesn’t match that of either the iTunes Store or Amazon Video On Demand. It’s video quality differs with different resolution. You will get better picture quality if you have faster internet connection.
